An international study verifies the benefits of consuming pork meat
A recent article from the University of Texas, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, demonstrates that the consumption of pork meat lowers heart risks in those persons who are overweight or moderately obese and therefore appropriate to include it in a varied and balanced diet.
The results of the study demonstrated that those participants who consumed pork meat benefitted from a greater reduction in overall levels of cholesterol and LDL cholesterol.
Therefore, it concluded that overweight or moderately obese adults could improve multiple factors of heart risk by adopting a Mediterranean eating pattern including appropriate fresh meat, such as lean cuts of pork meat.
